Shakespeare Schools Festival

The Shakespeare Schools Festival (SSF) charity is the largest youth drama festival in the UK. Since its inception in 2000, with 8 schools, it has put 75,000 young people on the stage. It is partnered, for the first time this year, with the National Theatre and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. The 2008 Shakespeare Youth Festival for youth directors aged 16-18yrs, was so successful that it has now been incorporated into the main Festival. Our growing international programme now includes cultural exchange between the 35 participating countries and the UK Festival schools.
