Shakespeare State Finals 2010

The Shakespeare State Finals Play Sydney

While World Cup play-offs have filled the news, Shakespeare play-offs have filled the lives of students across New South Wales as they fought for a place in The State Festival to be held in Sydney at the Seymour Centre's York Theatre on Friday, 30 July from 9am - 4pm. This will culminate not only in awards but a final Showcase of some of the highlights of this 2010 celebration of the world’s number one playwright.

The final field will bring young people from nineteen schools from rural and metropolitan areas, as well as the ACT, to present a dynamic program of performance, music, dance and movement, design and photography. Selected from School and Regional Festival events, these inspiring student driven works will remind audiences that, as in the World Cup, “the play's the thing.”
